“Today, it is no longer anything special for a woman to have a ‘career,’ but when a man stays home and takes care of the children, he is either scrutinized or celebrated like a hero. The norm is largely based on the idea that mothers are naturally better parents and that they have a special bond with the child that fathers do not have.”

Are fathers then the worse parents – would that be the question by implication?

With her latest YouTube video ‘Mom vs. Dad’, chemist and YouTuber Dr. Mai Thi Nguyen-Kim, who as a ‘science influencer’ with around 900,000 subscribers explains scientific topics well-researched and really makes science appealing, sparked a lively discussion. You can find the video in the comments.

There are numerous indications from science that #mothers are not naturally better #parents than fathers. Various studies support the following hypothesis: ‘Your hormones or your neurology do not dictate how well you take care of your child, but when you take care of your child, your hormones and your brain adjust to it.’

Do you still conform to the ‘norm’ and what are you doing for an equal partnership in the #family?
