I personally am increasingly aware of voices from men as well. Justus Haucap, professor of economics and director of the Institute for Competition Economics in Düsseldorf, writes in his guest commentary for WeltN24 GmbH:
“Realistically, it is hardly possible for both partners to pursue a regular job when children under ten years old are at home all day. Taking care of multiple young children simultaneously, educating them, raising them, and working ‘on the side’ may work for a while, but not for longer. Therefore, many women will gradually give up their careers if there continues to be no realistic prospect for change.”
Haucap is married and has four children aged between 3 and 16 years.
