Beatrace Oola

Beatrace Oola is the managing director of APYA Productions, a creative and consulting company focused on fashion, committed to promoting solidarity-driven business practices within the fashion industry. She is also the founder of the international network and platform Fashion Africa Now, which serves as a bridge between creatives, institutions, and companies in Europe and African countries. The network and platform aim to break down stereotypes, highlight marginalized perspectives, and open access to new markets.
She conducts workshops and lectures, offers consulting services, and speaks on topics such as equal opportunities, decolonization, new perspectives, and representation in the fashion, cultural, and creative industries. Her expertise has been recognized by renowned institutions such as AMD, SEZ, UNESCO, Kunsthalle Bremen, Zalando, and Berlin Fashion Week.
In addition, Beatrace Oola is a multidisciplinary curator, guest lecturer at the University of the Arts in Berlin (UDK) and the University of the Arts in Bremen (HfK), a futurist, and an advocate for African fashion. She is considered one of the global pioneers of the contemporary African fashion movement. In Germany, she has produced fashion shows, curated exhibitions at the Museum of Decorative Arts in Berlin, curated the ONU Shoe under the theme “Together” by Wildling, initiated pop-up formats at the Design Center Hamburg, moderated talks, and organized networking events in African countries.
Previously, she worked as a fashion stylist and creative producer, creating campaigns for renowned brands such as Montblanc, About You, SMART, Fila, Dior, Arte, and others. As a junior editor at Studio Hamburg, she also told compelling stories.
Fashion Africa Now was awarded the 2022 Cultural and Creative Pilots Award by the German government. In 2023, the Museum for the United Nations – UN Live selected Fashion Africa Now as a Top Culture for Impact.
