Camila Furtado and social sweethearts GmbH – it’s a match!
But before finding her perfect fit, Camila had to fight her way through a series of challenging circumstances with persistence and determination.

Camila left her home in Brazil and her management position to move to Germany with her German husband. Initially, she struggled to establish her professional footing in her new country.

Her first pregnancy gave her a vital and meaningful role, but she didn’t feel intellectually fulfilled. During her second pregnancy, she completed an MBA program and launched a highly successful blog for Brazilian mothers living abroad. “The blog was famous in Brazil! The feedback gave me so much energy,” Camila recalls today.

It became clear: what Camila missed was financial independence and her own career. She came across a job posting at social sweethearts for a Content Coordinator position. In her application, she initially left out her MBA and management experience, instead highlighting her blog—and she got the job. Four years later, she took on her first leadership role within the company. However, she faced significant challenges: difficulties in her marriage, raising her children, and navigating new responsibilities at work. She reached out for help, and social sweethearts immediately stepped in.

Through coaching, she untangled the mental knots, organized her thoughts, identified her weaknesses, and focused on her strengths. Reflection, introspection, and meditation have been integral to her work routine ever since.

Camila has a gift for shaping a multinational team into a collaborative unit, meeting high expectations, and remaining vulnerable and authentic in her leadership. The culture of trust she has cultivated benefits everyone involved.

With her deeply personal leadership style, she seamlessly combines company goals with a people-centered approach. “In my team, ideas don’t belong to individuals,” Camila explains. “Ideas are developed collectively, and something new emerges. The shared goal is always the focus.”

Would you like to learn from Camila? She is available as a mentor and welcomes the opportunity to exchange ideas. Empathetic leadership and fostering a culture of trust are topics she is passionate about. As a mentee, Camila hopes to connect with an expatriate woman in Germany or someone aspiring to take on leadership responsibilities.
