Caro Matzko was born in Ulm in 1979. While studying communications, politics and sociology at Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität in Munich, she worked as a presenter at SWR’s youth channel DasDing in Baden-Baden from 2000 to 2002. Since 2002 Caro Matzko has been a presenter and author at the scene magazine Zündfunk on Bayern2. From 2004 to 2008, she presented the two TV youth formats BlaaTeen and Freiraum on BR@lpha. From 2009 to 2017, Caro Matzko traveled the world for arte in the X:enius knowledge mobile together with her colleague Gunnar Mergner, spending a lot of time at gas stations, rest stops and airports. Gunnar and Caro nevertheless get along quite well. Since 2016, she has been hosting the show Planet Wissen together with Rainer Maria Jilg on ARD-alpha. With Fero Andersen, Caro Matzko has been presenting the ARD health check and Gesundheit! The Show. Since the end of 2016, she has been a co-host on Hannes Ringlstetter’s show Ringlstetter. Caro Matzko lives in Munich, is married and has had a daughter since 2013.
