“I’m fascinated by systems. How do they work? When can we innovate and change them?” asks Christiane Brandes-Visbeck, who has demonstrated a sharp sense of trends, a passion for innovation, and a love for challenges over many years.

Christiane is an innovation guide, author of professional books, founder and managing director of Ahoi Innovationen GmbH, and an advisory board member of the women’s network nushu Female Business.

She has gathered experience in a wide range of industries, helping companies innovate and transform with creative and unconventional approaches.

Christiane spent several years living in New York City, where she worked as a correspondent for Hubert Burda Media, among other roles. She wrote about digital topics early on and, upon returning to Germany, became one of the country’s first online editors-in-chief. “Be ahead of the crowd” is one of Christiane’s guiding principles, and she has consistently embodied it. Challenges and uncharted waters do not deter this Hamburg-based innovator.

Not all companies were able to implement her unconventional approaches. Christiane’s solution? In 2004, she founded her own management consultancy. Ahoi Innovationen GmbH has been “a steady anchor in my dynamic career for 20 years,” says the former media executive.

Identifying weaknesses, convincing others of innovative solutions, and implementing those solutions on her own terms—this is what drives Christiane. “I believe that true change happens when the people driving it don’t have to bow to an organization’s politics,” she says. And that’s exactly what she does: drive real change.
