Daniela Gatsche realized early on that she was a born leader. She has always been able to inspire and motivate others and naturally took the lead.

She found a home in the German Armed Forces (Bundeswehr) for 14 years, completing various training programs, earning a degree, and ultimately reaching the rank of Captain. “An old Bundeswehr saying goes: Nothing is as constant as change,” says Daniela. These constant changes eventually made it difficult for the mother of three and her husband to maintain a relaxed family life.

At an event, Daniela met the Equal Opportunities Officer of the Federal Employment Agency and learned about their trainee program. She was intrigued, joined the program, and quickly realized her passion extended beyond leadership to HR-related topics: How do you attract great talent? How do you implement new processes? How can you inspire women to take on leadership roles? Today, as Head of HR, Daniela oversees five agencies, 18 job centers, and a large family benefits office.

Daniela aims to create tailored solutions for her employees that fit a variety of life models, as her clear goal is to bring more women into leadership positions—even part-time roles.
