Dr. Caroline von Kretschmann

Dr. Caroline von Kretschmann is the managing partner of the Europäischer Hof in Heidelberg. She runs the 5-star superior hotel, which is considered one of the best hotels in Germany according to the most recognized hotel rankings. She represents the 4th generation of her family to lead the hotel.

After completing her apprenticeship at Deutsche Bank Frankfurt, she studied business administration at the University of St. Gallen, where she also earned her doctorate. Prior to joining the family business, she worked as a strategy and organizational consultant, spending 4 years at the international strategy and organizational consulting firm Bossard Consultants, and 11 years as a founding partner at Metropolitan Consulting Group. Upon joining the family business in 2010, she co-founded the complementary consultancy firm DUE CONSULTANTS with Melanie Frowein. The consultancy specializes in potential diagnostics and development, offering services such as coaching, team development, and succession planning for family businesses.

Dr. Caroline von Kretschmann is an honorary senator of the University of Heidelberg and has received numerous awards, including the most prestigious accolades in the hotel industry, such as the “Hotelier of the Year” award (2022) and the Brillat Savarin Plaque (2023). In addition to holding various honorary positions, she serves on the executive board of the association DIE FAMILIENUNTERNEHMER (The Family Entrepreneurs).
