Since April 2020, Ilka Hartmann has been the managing director of the 600-member strong British Chamber of Commerce in Germany e.V. (BCCG). Previously, she worked for Commerzbank AG in Oldenburg, Bremen, Frankfurt, and Berlin since 1994, accumulating over 30 years of experience as a trained bank clerk and bank specialist. As an expert in national and international economic and government contacts, she established and led the International Counter in Berlin until 2003. Afterwards, she represented the interests of Commerzbank in politics, ministries, and embassies as part of the liaison office until 2020. During this time, she founded and maintained numerous networks, including Campus of Excellence, Get Connected, SHE VIP, SHeconomy, and supported the Wundernova Women’s Summer and Thinkfest. She is also a member of the Advisory Board of the Global Female Leaders Summit, a member of the Steering Committee of the Königswinter Conference, and a member of the Executive Board of the Interessengemeinschaft Deutsche Luftwaffe e.V. She joined the British Chamber of Commerce in Germany (BCCG) as a member in 2005 and assumed the honorary position of Regional Chairman for Berlin-Brandenburg in 2007, subsequently being appointed to the Chamber’s board. She is married and a mother of a daughter. Her hobbies include traveling, skiing, and swimming.
