Katrin Habenschaden significantly contributes to shaping the sustainable mobility transition in Germany as Head of Sustainability & Environment at Deutsche Bahn AG. In her role, she is responsible for the green transformation and social responsibility of DB, with a focus on achieving DB’s climate neutrality by 2040. Alongside her team, she also drives initiatives related to circular economy and biodiversity.

Before joining Germany’s largest mobility company, Katrin Habenschaden served as the second full-time mayor of the city of Munich until autumn 2023. In her previous role, she was responsible for climate protection, mobility issues, and gender equality.

Katrin Habenschaden resides with her family in Munich. When not commuting to Berlin by train, the 46-year-old can often be found hiking or enjoying a day out at one of Bavaria’s many lakes.
