Margret Rasfeld
CEO of "Schule im Aufbruch" gGmbH, former school principal with nearly 40 years of experience. Today, she is driving change in the education system as an educational innovator.Margret Rasfeld, born in 1951, spent nearly 40 years working as a teacher, in teacher training, and for two decades as a school principal. As an educational innovator and advisor, she continues to advocate for a fundamental reorientation of school education on various levels. The Evangelische Schule Berlin-Zentrum, which she led for many years, is regarded worldwide as a prototype for the necessary paradigm shift in education.
To support schools in their transformation, Rasfeld co-founded the initiative “Schule im Aufbruch” (“Schools in Transition”) in 2012 together with Stephan Breidenbach and Gerald Hüther. In 2023, the initiative was honored by the German UNESCO Commission and the Federal Ministry of Education with the “National Award – Education for Sustainable Development” as well as the “Special Team Award ‘Hand in Hand’” at the EMOTION AWARD.
