Margret Rasfeld is an expert in future education, an encourager of courage, a creative connector of ideas and people, an author, and an advocate for children. She is an experienced school practitioner with 39 years of experience in education, including 25 years in leadership roles. Until the summer of 2016, she led the Evangelische Schule Berlin Zentrum, whose innovative concept serves as a role model for a worldwide paradigm shift in education. Margret Rasfeld advocates for societal transformation, with a particular focus on educational culture, on an international scale. Key principles include education for sustainable development, global citizenship, unlocking potential, fostering respectful relationships, participation, responsibility, and purpose. She was one of the six core experts in Chancellor Merkel’s “How We Want to Learn” future dialogue and operates as a cross-disciplinary networker in various innovation fields. As a consultant and internationally sought-after speaker, she reaches approximately 20,000 people each year. Her life is characterized by dedication and pioneering spirit, as she has initiated numerous initiatives and organizations throughout her career.
Currently, she serves as the Managing Director of the Schule im Aufbruch gGmbH, which has been awarded the National BNE Prize by UNESCO. Margret Rasfeld has received numerous awards, including the Federal Health Prize in 1992, the Vision Award in 2012, the Querdenker Award in 2013, the WeQ Award in 2019, the Aufbruch Award SZ/Google in 2020, and the Emotion Award in 2023.
