Natascha Sagorski

Author, initiator of the legislative initiative for tiered maternity leave, and managing director of "Familie sind Alle" gGmbH.

Natascha Sagorski studied political science and communication studies. She works as an author and managing director of her own non-profit NGO and has published several non-fiction books and novels. After experiencing a miscarriage in 2019, she became aware of the societal and political shortcomings in how families are treated after pregnancy loss. This led her to advocate for a tiered maternity leave policy for miscarriages. She launched a successful petition and achieved the unanimous adoption of the law for tiered maternity leave in the German Bundestag. Since then, women in Germany who experience a miscarriage from the 13th week of pregnancy onwards have been entitled to maternity leave. Today, Sagorski is considered a prominent voice in women’s and family policy within her political network. She has been recognized for her courage to drive change by the Institute of the Süddeutsche Zeitung and the Wirtschaftsjunioren and was supported as a political talent by JoinPolitics, among others. She lives with her family near Munich.
