Self-taught in the IT sector, a single mother, and a leader at Konica Minolta Business Solutions Deutschland GmbH—Tereza Křižková hails from the Czech Republic, from a small town near the Slovak border.

She knew early on that her future was not there. At 18, she moved to Prague and started working as an assistant at a German company, where ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning software) was in use. Tereza was curious and taught herself everything she could about it. Later, she joined the software manufacturer to gain even more knowledge.

The birth of her son brought significant changes to Tereza’s career. “When a man becomes a father, he simply has a child. For me, it meant a different life,” she says. For a single mother, business trips and training abroad posed significant logistical challenges. As always, she found a solution: Tereza pragmatically transitioned from travel-intensive consulting to the more flexible field of software development.

Today, she is a Team Leader in Development at Konica Minolta, managing a team spread across Germany from her home office. Tereza encourages working mothers. “Life as a working mother can be tough; it can often feel unfair. But the time will come when the children… go to bed on their own in the evening. Then it gets better,” she says.
