Thorsten Giersch

The Westphalian has been a dedicated journalist since his youth, whether working for the local newspaper at home or as editor-in-chief for student and football club magazines. Alongside his journalism studies, the 44-year-old hosted radio shows and worked at n-tv for six years, most recently as the film editor for the business section. In 2008, the experienced host joined Handelsblatt, where he held various leadership positions for 13 years, including co-managing director of a publishing subsidiary. After serving over two years as editor-in-chief at Markt und Mittelstand, the family man has been the co-editor-in-chief of DUP Unternehmer-Medien, one of Germany’s most widely read business magazines, since June 2024, where he founded the brand “Mittelstand Reloaded.” Additionally, he has been the host of “How to Hack,” Business Punk’s podcast, since 2023. He is considered one of the leading business journalists on the topic of diversity, particularly advocating for gender equality for over ten years.
