GROW! Mein Weg zurĂĽck aus der Elternzeit hinein ins Entwicklungsprogramm
Was bedeutet Veränderung? Veränderung bedeutet Fortschritt, Veränderung bedeutet Entwicklung aber Veränderung bedeutet auch mutig zu sein, sich selbst zu vertrauen und ggf. Dinge zu tun, die man noch nicht getan hat und bei denen man sich nicht sicher ist, ob es funktioniert und ob es die richtige Entscheidung sein wird! Sehr abgedroschen, aber auch wahr: du wirst es nie herausfinden, wenn du es nicht ausprobierst! Trau dich! Ergreife die Chancen, wenn sie sich zeigen! So ähnlich waren meine Gedanken, als ich firsch aus meiner 2. Elternzeit zurück in meine Vollzeitposition als Head of Customer Service zurückkam und auf das neu konzipierte interne Entwicklungsprogramm „GROW“ aufmerksam wurde.

Vita: Edith Schmid-Eisermann, 34, Mama von 2 kleinen Wirbelwinden, Head of customer service aus München. Sie entschied sich nach der Schule bewusst für eine Ausbildung. Der Wunsch auf eigenen Beinen zu stehe und sich eine eigene Wohnung leisten zu können war groß und das Verlangen in die bayrische Hauptstadt zu ziehen noch größer. Nach 2 Jahren erfolgreich abgeschlossener kaufmännischer Ausbildung, machte sie einen kurzen Abstecher in der Immobilienbranche, bevor sie weiterzog und 2009 bei CEWE startete. Eine sehr ausgeprägte Kundenorientierung und ein fest verankerte Dienstleistungsgedanke, machten den Start im Kundenservice zum perfekten Umfeld. Während sie sich berufsbegleitend zum „Bachelor Professional (CCI) of Marketing“ ausbilden ließ, entwickelte sie sich im Unternehmen von der Mitarbeitenden im Kundenservice im Alter von Mitte 20, zur Abteilungsleitung. Ihre Motivation ist es, ein Arbeitsumfeld zu schaffen, indem der Mensch und deren Stärken im Vordergrund stehen und lebenslanges Lernen zum Alltag gehört. Wahrscheinlich sind diese Gedanken der Grund, warum sie sich selbst in den letzten Jahren zur Trainerin ausbilden hat lasse und eine nächste Weiterbildung im Bereich Organisationspsychologie besuchte. Sie selbst hat den Antrieb immer wieder die Komfortzone zu verlassen und mutig zu sein! Auch in den turbulentesten Zeiten des Lebens ist es möglich persönlichen Wachstum zu erreichen und Träume zu verfolgen. Daher steht Ende dieses Jahrs für ihre Familie das nächste, und neben der Familiengründung, wahrscheinlich das bisher größte Abendteuer an: Ihre 2 und 4 jahre alten Töchter, ihr Mann und sie haben ihre Wohnung aufgegeben, erneut Elternzeit eingereicht und lassen Deutschland für ein Jahr hinter sich. Ein Jahr durch die Welt ist der Plan!

Von der Krankenschwester zur Mathematikerin: Meine Arbeit als Frau im MINT-Bereich
Seit 2019 arbeite ich als Data Scientist/Mathematikerin bei CEWE in der Abteilung F & E im sogenannten Mobile Artificial Intelligence Campus (MAIC) – für mich ein absoluter Glücksgriff. Noch nie hat mir meine Arbeit so viel Freude bereitet. Wir vom MAIC entwickeln für unsere Kund:innen und für CEWE innovative Lösungen mit Hilfe neuster Technologien und unterstützen CEWE auf diesem Wege bei künftigen Herausforderungen. Ich lade euch zu einem angeregten Austausch und dem gemeinsamen Erleben unserer Lösungen ein und freue mich darauf, euch vor allen Dingen unsere KI-basierten Applikationen zu demonstrieren, die wir für unsere bedienungsfreundliche Gestaltungssoftware entwickelt haben.

Vita: Nach der Schule habe ich mich zunächst für einen beruflichen Werdegang im sozial-karitativen Bereich entschieden und nach einem Freiwilligen Sozialen Jahr in einem Heim für behinderte Menschen eine Ausbildung zur Gesundheits- und Krankenpflegerin abgeschlossen. Hierbei liebte ich vor allem die Zusammenarbeit mit Menschen – vermisste aber auch mehr und mehr das Lernen, sowie die Mathematik. Mathe war zu Schulzeiten mein absolutes Lieblingsfach; es zu studieren habe ich mich damals allerdings nicht getraut. Nach einem Jahr Arbeit im Krankenhaus als Krankenschwester, habe ich mich zu einem Mathematikstudium durchgerungen und somit eine berufliche Neuorientierung gewagt: es war genau die richtige Entscheidung! Als Studienschwerpunkt wählte ich Statistik und habe nach meinem Abschluss als Statistikerin und wissenschaftliche Mitarbeiterin in der medizinischen Forschung gearbeitet. So konnte ich beide Interessensgebiete -Mathe und Medizin- gut miteinander kombinieren. In der Forschung tätig zu sein hat mir viel Freude bereitet; ich fand es sehr spannend, an höchst aktuellen Themen zu arbeiten. Um mir die Möglichkeit offen zu halten, auch weiterhin in der Forschung tätig sein zu können, habe ich zudem noch promoviert und im Rahmen meiner Doktorarbeit unterschiedliche statistische Verfahren bzw. Methoden des maschinellen Lernens miteinander verglichen. Seit 2019 arbeite ich nun als Data Scientist bei CEWE im sogenannten Mobile & Artificial Intelligence Campus (MAIC) im Bereich Forschung & Entwicklung. Unter Anderem leite ich hier ein Projekt, welches das Ziel hat, unser Team bei der Entwicklung smarter Lösungen für unsere Gestaltungssoftware zu unterstützen.
