Unconscious bias has become a widely known concept in the corporate world. But the awareness seminars and management workshops that many companies have introduced haven’t quite hit the mark. As co-director of the Women and Public Policy Program at Harvard Kennedy School, Professor Iris Bohnet is an expert on systemic diversity issues. In her 2016 book „What Works“ Bohnet proposes behavioural design as a tool for improving gender diversity in organisations. In it, she shows how changing structures and processes in organisations can be much more efficient and effective than merely trying to address the human mind.

Buch - What Works

The herCAREER Academy Session on November 20th will focus on Professor Bohnet’s research and experience with applying behavioural design in organisations. She will explain how male* and female* management can help shape structures and systems towards more diversity and equity.
What are the most important tools for shaping behaviour? What actions, what tools are available to each person to work together to create the right culture for a more diverse workplace?

If you are an HR professional, a manager or simply interested in minimising unconscious and systemic bias – this is for you.
